Helen started her 28-year career in accountancy with one of the ‘Big Four’ London-based firms. She joined Stables Thompson & Briscoe in 2008 and became a director in 2009. She is responsible for audit, accounts, tax compliance, tax planning and advisory work specialising in charities.
Helen has two grown-up sons and spends her time gardening, walking and generally keeping fit and active.
Francis joined the firm in 1981 as a graduate trainee and became a director in 2007. Over the years he has become an allrounder dealing with accounts, VAT, payroll, IT, audit, personal and corporate finance. In the past few years, he has specialised in corporate clients.
Francis is married with three children. Outside of work he’s a hockey enthusiast and regularly plays for Windermere 2nds and Lakelanders Masters hockey clubs.
Chloe joined STB in August 2007 as a trainee, initially studying for the AAT qualification at Kendal College before undertaking Chartered training. Chloe was placed 9th in the Northern Society Order of Merit for those passing their ICAEW advanced stage examinations in 2012. Chloe joined the board in 2015 and manages the Accounts and Audit department, specialising in Academies.
Chloe was brought up on a hill farm near Kirkby Stephen and continues to live in the area with her husband. In her spare time, Chloe enjoys walking and going on holiday.
James joined STB in August 2010 as a trainee where he initially studied for the AAT qualification at Kendal College before undertaking Chartered training. He became a director in October 2021 and is responsible for audits and accounts work specialising in Academies.
James has lived in Kendal all his life and is engaged and has a young son. He is a sports fan and spends his spare time playing football and attending music concerts and festivals.
