Recruitment policy
We aim to recruit one trainee each year, usually in March/April, to commence training in August.
Applicants need to be numerate and have good communication skills, IT literate and be ready for hard work. GCSE at Grade B or above in English and Maths are a pre-requisite and preference will be given to applicants with A Levels equivalent at least to 240 UCAS points.
On joining our firm out trainees attend an introductory bookkeeping course followed by in-house on the job training. In addition our trainees will normally spend two evenings a week at Kendal College studying for an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification. The course normally takes two years to complete.
The AAT qualification provides exemption from some of the exams for the Institute of Chartered Accountants which follow.
Trainees then commence a training contract for a minimum of 36 months, during which period we offer a structured programme of learning together with on-the-job work experience and individual work based tuition.
We pay for all course fees and study leave throughout the AAT and Chartered Training.
